  1. Look at the south jetty in the harbour

West gate, down to the harbour. The crates are at the far end of the southern jetty; click them.

A ship from the south brought Gerold's lamp oil — his whole stock for the winter — and it was unloaded onto the south jetty. By morning there was not a cask left. The guard says the waves took it. Go and look.

  2. Take back four of Gerold's oil casks from the cult

The fore-yard of the Ashen Spire, at the end of the coast road: Cult Novices (level 15) and Ruin Acolytes (level 20).

Split crates, a pool of oil, drag marks going west — and a sign burned into a plank: a grey spire in a circle. The trail follows the coast road west, over the bridge on the Hollow, to the ruins on the cape. The cult there is ground for level 15 and above.

  3. Take the waybill from a Ruin Acolyte

The Ruin Acolytes in the fore-yard of the Ashen Spire. Level 20, spells at four cells.

Four casks. But why would a cult steal lamp oil? The Ruin Acolytes keep the order's accounts — one of them will be carrying the paper.

  4. Bring the casks to Gerold

    Riverhollow: the market square.

A waybill: so much oil, for the vigil at the seal, and the day the next load is wanted. Bring the casks back to Gerold.

  5. Quest complete

Gerold has his oil back and sells to you at a tenth off for good. The waybill he would not keep: take it to Olvir on the temple steps — he understands such signs.
